BUSINESS NAME: HONITON TECH SHOP
OWNER: LUKE DOLBY TRADING AS THE HONITON TECH SHOP
ADDRESS: UNIT 13 LACE WALK, HONITON, DEVON, EX14 1LR, UNITED KINGDOM
VAT NUMBER: GB404411644
Honiton Tech Shop provides diagnostics, repair services and replacement of electronic components for devices, including but not limited to mobile phones, tablets, laptops and other electronic equipment.
All repairs are carried out using appropriate professional tools and replacement parts.
Repair times are estimates only and may vary depending on the complexity of the repair or availability of parts.
Most devices can be inspected and diagnosed free of charge in store.
In some cases where the fault cannot be determined in store, the device may need to be sent to a specialist technician for further diagnostic testing.
Where a device is sent to a specialist, diagnostic fees and postage costs may apply. Customers will always be informed and asked for approval before a device is sent for specialist diagnostics.
While Honiton Tech Shop ensures secure packaging, we cannot be held liable for loss, delay, or damage caused by third-party courier services while the device is in transit to or from our specialist.
Customers acknowledge that specialist diagnostic work involves labour and investigation. These charges may still apply even if the device is found to be beyond economical repair.
Repair quotations are valid for 7 days unless otherwise stated.
Customers are responsible for backing up all data before submitting their device for repair.
Honiton Tech Shop accepts no responsibility for loss of data, software, applications or personal information during the repair process.
Certain repairs may require software resets, updates or restoration which may erase stored data.
To fully test device functionality before and after a repair, device passcodes or passwords may be required. Honiton Tech Shop respects customer privacy; we will only access areas of the device strictly necessary for testing hardware components (e.g., camera, microphone, speakers, touchscreen) and will not access, review, copy, or distribute personal files, messages, or photos.
Devices submitted for repair may contain hidden or pre-existing faults that are not visible before disassembly.
During repair, additional issues may become apparent, including but not limited to:
– Motherboard faults
– Corrosion
– Liquid damage
– Fragile connectors
– Previous repair damage
If a device fails or becomes non-functional during repair due to pre-existing damage, internal corrosion or weakened components, Honiton Tech Shop cannot be held responsible.
Devices that have experienced liquid or water exposure carry no repair guarantee.
Liquid damage will void any existing repair warranty or product purchase warranty provided by Honiton Tech Shop.
Honiton Tech Shop does not generally carry out full repairs on liquid damaged devices due to the high risk of corrosion and unpredictable faults.
In some cases, we may attempt a temporary repair or cleaning process in order to recover or transfer customer data to another device. This work is carried out on a best-effort basis only and no guarantee of functionality or longevity can be provided.
Customers acknowledge that liquid damaged devices may stop working completely during or after inspection, cleaning or attempted repair.
Honiton Tech Shop cannot be held responsible if a liquid damaged device becomes non-functional during the repair or diagnostic process.
Screen replacements often require heat, pressure and specialised tools to remove the original screen assembly.
If a device frame is bent, weakened, previously repaired or structurally compromised, there is a risk that the screen or surrounding components may crack or become damaged during removal.
Honiton Tech Shop will take reasonable care during repair but cannot be held responsible if damage occurs due to the structural condition of the device.
Customers acknowledge that devices with existing frame damage or weakened structural components may experience additional cosmetic or functional damage during the repair process.
Modern devices may contain manufacturer security systems, including Face ID, Touch ID and fingerprint sensors.
These components are paired to the device motherboard by the manufacturer.
Honiton Tech Shop cannot guarantee continued functionality of biometric systems following certain repairs, including screen replacements, sensor repairs or water damage repairs.
Manufacturer notifications such as “Important Display Message” or “Unknown Part” warnings may appear after repair due to manufacturer software restrictions.
Repairs may involve the use of genuine manufacturer parts or high-quality compatible replacement parts.
Where compatible parts are used, devices may display manufacturer notifications indicating that a replacement component has been installed.
This does not affect normal device functionality.
Honiton Tech Shop provides a 6-month warranty on most repair parts and labour unless otherwise stated.
This warranty covers faults directly related to the replaced component or installation.
The warranty does not cover:
– Accidental damage
– Liquid damage
– Impact damage
– Misuse or neglect
– Software issues
– Faults unrelated to the replaced component
The warranty becomes void if the device has been opened or repaired by another party after our repair.
Items purchased in store that are not faulty may be returned within 14 days for a credit note only.
After 14 days, no returns will be accepted unless the item is faulty.
Returned items must be unused, sealed and in their original condition with all packaging and accessories.
Certain products, including games, films, trading cards, screen protectors and mobile top-ups, may be excluded from returns.
Honiton Tech Shop reserves the right to inspect and verify faulty items before issuing any refund, replacement or credit note.
Customers will be notified once repairs are completed.
Devices must be collected within 30 days.
Devices left for extended periods without communication may incur storage charges.
Devices left for more than 90 days without contact may be considered abandoned and may be disposed of or recycled to recover repair or storage costs where permitted by law.
Payment is required upon completion of the repair, before the device is returned.
Accepted payment methods include:
– Cash
– Debit Card
– Credit Card
Devices will not be released until full payment has been received.
Honiton Tech Shop reserves the right to retain possession of the device until payment has been made in full.
Honiton Tech Shop shall not be liable for:
– Loss of data
– Loss of business or profits
– Indirect or consequential damages
– Manufacturer software restrictions
– Faults caused by pre-existing damage or previous repairs
Total liability shall not exceed the value of the repair carried out.

Honiton Tech Shop reserves the right to update services, pricing or website content at any time without prior notice.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising from services provided by Honiton Tech Shop shall fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Customers are encouraged to inspect their device at the time of collection.
By accepting the device and leaving the premises, the customer acknowledges that the device has been returned in satisfactory condition for the repair performed.
Honiton Tech Shop cannot accept responsibility for any new damage reported after the device has left the premises unless directly related to the repair carried out.
Any warranty provided by Honiton Tech Shop on repairs or devices sold is only valid if the device remains in the same condition as it was at the time of sale or repair.
The warranty will be void if the device shows signs of:
– Accidental damage
– Liquid damage
– Physical impact
– Misuse or neglect
– Unauthorised repair or modification
– Tampering with internal components
Honiton Tech Shop reserves the right to inspect any device returned under warranty before any repair, replacement or credit is issued.
All repairs, goods and services must be paid for in full before a device or item is released to the customer.
By authorising a repair or purchasing goods from Honiton Tech Shop, the customer agrees to pay the agreed repair or purchase price once the work has been completed or the goods have been supplied.
In the event that a payment is reversed, disputed or charged back after a repair or purchase has been completed, Honiton Tech Shop reserves the right to pursue recovery of the outstanding amount through appropriate legal or debt recovery channels.
Customers acknowledge that initiating a chargeback for a legitimate and completed repair or purchase may result in additional recovery costs being added to the outstanding balance where permitted by law.
Honiton Tech Shop provides a 6-month shop warranty on all pre-owned/used devices sold, covering inherent hardware and manufacturing faults.
Batteries are legally classified as consumable components. Because rechargeable batteries naturally lose capacity over time with standard usage, the following specific terms apply to all pre-owned device batteries:
Battery Health Disclosure: Every pre-owned laptop, tablet, or mobile device undergoes an internal battery diagnostic test prior to being placed for sale. The recorded battery capacity, health percentage, or functional baseline at the point of sale forms an explicit part of the item’s legal description and sets the baseline standard for its “satisfactory quality.”
What is Covered (Genuine Faults): Our 6-month warranty covers total battery hardware failures 100%. This includes a battery that completely fails to accept a charge, a battery that causes sudden spontaneous power cuts/device shutdowns while under load, or a battery that exhibits physical swelling (a hardware safety defect).
What is Excluded (Wear, Tear & Degradation): The warranty strictly excludes natural capacity reduction, expected wear and tear, or gradual reductions in battery running time over the 6-month period. A decline in daily battery life (e.g., a used battery providing fewer hours of active use than a brand-new component) is an expected characteristic of pre-owned consumable items and does not constitute a legal fault or defect under these terms.
Honiton Tech Shop reserves the right to refuse service or repair on any device at our discretion.
This includes, but is not limited to, devices that pose a health and safety risk (e.g., severely swollen or punctured batteries, biological or chemical hazards), devices heavily tampered with by unauthorised parties, or in cases of abusive, aggressive, or threatening behaviour.
